1952 Milwaukee Brewers Chicago Cubs Program Scorecard1952 Milwaukee Brewers Chicago Cubs Program Scorecard
The 1952 season was the final one for the minor league Milwaukee Brewers who played in the Triple A
American Association. Milwaukee would go major league the following season with the arrival of the
Braves from Boston. In addition to their American Association opponents, the Brewers played three
exhibition games against major league teams—May 12, 1952 vs. the St. Louis Browns, June 9, 1952 vs.
the Chicago Cubs, and July 31 against the Chicago White Sox. Offered here is the program/scorecard
from the Cubs’ game. The Cubs’ roster included Hank Sauer, Eddie Miksis, Dee Fondy, and Hal Jeffcoat.
The Brewers’ roster included Billy Bruton, Jack Dittmer, Gene Conley, and Gene Mauch. The 18-page
program/scorecard includes a team photo of the 1951 Brewers, who won the American Association
pennant and the Little Word Series over the International League champions. The condition of the
program is only AVERAGE. The centerfold, which includes the scoring pages, has come apart from the
staples. The front cover show a small rip on top (see scan). Apart from the centerfold, the interior is in
wonderful shape with everything very readable.
