    Description

1973 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 450SL Roadster in used condition. This car was in storage for a long period of time before I acquired it in May of 2019. The car shows low mileage (60,990), and great colors!
    Exterior
Paint looks very good, and body panels are relatively straight.  Paint color code is DB-906 - Gray Blue Poly.
Both doors have to be closed semi-hard to fit snug. There is corrosion and paint bubbling on the RR quarter panel (top of wheel well), RH door (at top of side molding), LF fender (on the top front), and LR quarter panel (top of wheel well). Hardtop is nice with minor bubbling on one corner and a dent/gouge on the top. Convertible top frame, blue fabric and rear plastic windows all look excellent! All glass is good. Optional front headlamp washers are mounted on front bumper. All four (4) Bundt rims have been restored, with new Cooper Evolution 195/70R14 radial tires. Trunk floor looks solid/redone. Spare tire and jack are present, but there is no tool kit. Both LH (drivers side) and RH (passenger side) floor pans have been replaced (flat metal sections were used - not factory replacement floor pans). Frame seems solid, with noticeable surface rust in spots (see photos), and weathered rubber bushings on some suspension parts. Someone has added a third stop light on top of the trunk lid; no idea why. LF wheel well has what appears to be sound deadener/undercoating breaking away from the inner wheel well.
    Engine
4.5L V-8 engine with automatic transmission runs good. New Die Hard battery installed last year. Just replaced the gas tank exit hose with original MB part. Exhaust looks and sounds fine with no leaks. Air-conditioning fan belt is broke, but I have a new replacement to install.
    Interior
Interior looks fabulous in blue and is mostly new - seat covers, carpet and door panels. All gauges work except the odometer. Becker radio has been replaced with a Sony unit with removable face plate. The clear plastic gauge face has a small crack at the bottom.
    Overview
I think this car is gorgeous! I've owned the car for two years, and have put maybe 100 miles on it. I never drive it. Before I bought the car, my understanding was it was in storage for many years. The car is starting to show paint bubbles and minor corrosion, especially on both rear wheel well openings. Underneath the car looks good, except for the replacement floor pans (as previously noted), and some rubber suspension bushings (front and rear), that should be replaced. The car has a few mechanical issues that should be corrected before driving: 1) a brake line/master cylinder is leaking under the firewall on the drivers side. Not sure exactly what's leaking, but it's causing a small puddle to form over time. I assume it's brake fluid, as the rear brake reservoir is low. 2) Power side windows aren't working; neither side will go down. I have a new replacement relay that I believe is the issue - needs installed. 3) Air-conditioning fan belt is broke, but I have new replacement, as noted above.
    Final Thoughts
Clear Ohio title in my name. Car is presently registered, on the road and insured. I think my reserve is reasonable. Buyer is responsible for picking up/shipping the car, but I will assist in any way possible. Personal inspections of the car are both welcomed and encouraged. I have receipts going back to about 2009; mainly for the interior restoration parts and labor. Dead presidents on pick up, wire transfer and bank checks are all OK. 7402434118 Holler if any questions.
