Description
I have this poster and program from Thanks Brooks Day September 18, 1977. After 23 years playing for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, Brooks Robinson retired at the end of the 1977 season. In appreciation for what he accomplished on and off the field, the Baltimore Orioles celebrated his career by sponsoring a Thanks Brooks Day which allowed fans to thank him one last time as well. The program measures 9" x 6" and has 6 pages with highlights of his career. The back page has his statistics. The poster measures 11 3/4" x 17 5/8" and is a Norman Rockwell reprint titled "Gee Thanks Brooks" which shows Brooks signing a baseball for a young fan. Brooks Robinson's number 5 was retired by the Baltimore Orioles in April 1978 and he was elected on the first ballot to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. A couple nice collectible items for any baseball or Oriole fan.
Both items have been in storage and not displayed. Will ship in 1 business in a 3" diameter mailing tube.
