The Romania 5,000 Lei banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania in 1998. The banknote comes in a combination of orange, yellow, blue, red, and brown. Featured on its obverse is the coat of arms of Romania, a daffodil flower, the bank monogram, and a portrait of Romanian philosopher and poet Lucian Blaga. The back of the paper bill depicts a grape leaf, a crucifix, a flower, and the bank monogram. This banknote is 145 x 64 mm in size and bears a solid security thread with a demetalized BNR 5000. Its watermark consists of an image of Lucian Blaga and a vertical BNR. It also has a registration device in the form of a flower. This paper bill is in uncirculated condition.
