Description
Six pieces of 1940s-1950s New York Yankees paper memorabilia.The Sketch Book measures approximately 8 and 1/4 inches by 10 and 3/4 inches.
The Programs / Score Cards measure approximately 6 and 1/2 inches by 10 inches.
Included in this lot are the following (with condition noted for each): 1) 1944 Yankees Program/Score Card, NYY vs Detroit Tigers. CONDITION: The scorecard is unscored. The paper is quite age-toned throughout and not evenly so. (This is definitely war years paper.) There is some brown spotting and some staining. The edges and corners and spine all have light wear. There is minor staple rust.
2) 1949 Yankees Program/Score Card, NYY vs Philadelphia Athletics. CONDITION: Score card is unscored. Paper is slightly age-toned. There is a small hole in the lower front cover. The staples have some rust with transfer to the paper. The corners are a bit bumped. The cover, edges and pages all have light wear.
3) 1950 Yankees Program/Score Card, NYY vs Washington Senators. Score card is unscored. The staples are rusted with some paper transfer. The paper is age-toned. There is some brown spotting and a bit of staining. The corners are lightly bumped. The cover and edges have light wear.
4) 1952 Yankees Program/Score Card, NYY vs Philadelphia Athletics. CONDITION: The score card is unscored. There is a smudge on the Y in Yankees on the front cover. The paper is lightly age-toned. The staples are rusted with some paper transfer. The corners have small bumps. There is some minor brown spotting.
5) 1953 Yankees Sketch Book. CONDITION: The paper is quite age-toned with more toning along the edges. The spine is worn with slight separation on lower edge. The corners are bumped. There is a faint bend in the cover.
6) 1950 Yankees Yank, official publication of the New Yorn Yankees. Single sheet publication. CONDITION: The paper is folded in half as shown. (I believe this is original.) CONDITION: There is light age-toning of the paper. There is some light brown spotting and one darker spot right below Vic Wertz on front page.
